NHCS Theatre Program

Raising the Curtain, Lifting His Name!

Welcome to the World of NHCS Theatre!

The New Hope Theatre Program exists to glorify God through the performing arts by combining creativity, excellence, and faith. Our productions allow students to grow in confidence, develop their talents, and share powerful stories that inspire audiences and reflect biblical truths. Whether on stage or behind the scenes, students are encouraged to use their gifts to serve, collaborate, and glorify Christ through every performance. From acting and stage design to music and technical production, our program equips students with valuable skills while fostering teamwork, discipline, and a heart for service.

Audition for Our Next Play!

So excited to announce our upcoming Spring Theatre Production!

Based on the book by Hannah Hurnard, adapted by Michelle Allenmang, “Hind’s Feet on High Places” is an incredible adventure story where we learn how to walk alongside the good Shepherd!

"Hinds' Feet on High Places" is a Christian allegory  about a crippled woman named Much-Afraid who longs to escape her fears and reach the High Places. The story follows her spiritual journey with her companions, Sorrow and Suffering, as she is guided by the Chief Shepherd (representing Jesus). Through many trials, she develops spiritual strength and is eventually given a new name for her triumph over fear and her newfound love for God.

Never heard of it? This being it’s second time put onstage, we are excited to bring this story to life! Keep a lookout for ticket sales!

Learning the Art of Stage-craft

Here students learn fundamental and advanced stage-craft ranging from Audience etiquette and stage directions, to positioning and vocal technique.

Meet Jessie Burman:
Our Head of the Theatre Department

Hi! My name is Jessie Burman and I started at New Hope in 2022!
I teach Middle School Drama and assist in teaching 1st Grade. I love helping the kids explore the world of theater and enjoy getting to have fun with them as they learn! It has been such a blessing to work at New Hope, getting to teach from a biblical standpoint and watching the students find the joy of the Lord on the stage. I would have never thought that I would get to teach theater,
but the Lord is so good! I’m excited to see how this program grows!
