Tanya has deep roots in Southern Oregon. She was raised here in Grants Pass. She attended Grants Pass Christian School till she was a sophomore when her family moved to Riddle, OR. She graduated from Riddle High School in 1991.
Tanya left Southern Oregon to attend college. She has attended several schools including Boise Bible College, Southwestern Oregon Community College, and Linfield. Tanya started out with a major in Secondary Education with a minor in Science, but ended up with a Bachelor’s in Accounting. Because of this she has a diverse education.
Tanya is married to Ben Sutter. Ben is a Structural Engineer with the US Forest Service They have four children, Sarah, Daniel, Katie, and Joshua. Sarah, Katie and Joshua all attended New Hope for a period of time.
In 2013, the Tanya moved back to Southern Oregon from Port Orchard, WA. She started teaching at New Hope in 2015 because of her love for chidlren. She teaches high school Science. She is also the advisor for Josephine County Foundation and Future Business Leaders of America.
Tanya enjoys being outdoors and spending time with family. She loves camping, hiking and being in her flower garden.
