I graduated from Southern Oregon University in 2001 with a Master’s in Education, after many years of taking classes here and there as my children were growing up. The year I graduated was the year that my youngest son graduated from high school.
I always felt God’s calling to teach, so from 1977 up to 2001, I taught either in Sunday Schools, Children’s Church, home Bible studies, home preschool, or camps ranging from preschool to high school. I feel it is a real joy to teach children of all ages.
In applying for the ACSI certification around 2005, I found that I needed some Bible credits. I was so happy to find out that when I attended Judson Baptist College in 1974 to 76, I took enough Bible credits to satisfy the requirements for ACSI. I used to wonder how I would ever use the Bible credits from so long ago, but God always had a plan for them.
I have been teaching 3rd grade at New Hope for 10 years. I have also led the elementary drama team for the last 9 years.
My husband, Carlos, is also a teacher at an elementary school, and we have three married sons with a total of ten grandchildren.
