WARRIOR NATION RENOVATION UPDATE - by Patti Hillier
The blessings abound as does the enthusiasm of our students working for their new gym floor in our Student Workdays Fundraiser. Many secondary students, including most of our international students, spent their 2 1/2 days off of school last week working for others, earning compliments of “the best workers”, “motivated”, “hardworking”, “wonderful job”, and “amazing work ethic.” Our younger warriors have been very busy as well. One young man went door-to-door collecting pop cans and raised over $170; others have done extra chores, held bake sales, and many more creative things to raise money. The third grade class decorated pens and pencils with flower toppers and have been avidly selling them. Second grade is having a 25 cent sale every Tuesday and Thursday selling their own toys (or their siblings!), books, and baked goods. First grade made edible rainbows which they sold at lunch on Wednesday.
The work continues. Due to the weather and long term projects, we have extended the Student Workday Fundraiser until October 19th for elementary and the 22nd for secondary. Many exciting prizes will be given away to those individuals earning the most money for secondary and elementary, as well as class prizes for highest earnings. See the bulletin board in the breezeway for more details. If you have any questions or work to be done, please call Patti Hillier at 862-2179 or email her at mrsh84@hotmail.com.
