A
great deal
of fun was had by all at our Harvest Festival...and now is the time to thank
all who helped make this eventsuch a great success! The bakers, the cooks, the workers, the sellers, the buyers, the organizers, the vendors, the helpers, the students, and all the volunteers!
We couldn’t have done it without
all
of you!
everyone who participated in any way! WHAT A GREAT DAY!
In addition to the remarkable Harvest Festival, many of us have come off of a very busy effort to raise money for our gym renovations. Through work efforts of recent weeks, students have turned in $7,302 to bring our renovation funding efforts to $84,623. Now only $15,277 remains before we match the $50,000 initial gift for the gym renovation.
The floor is the first step in the renovations. Still of benefit to our program will be: 1. Dressing room improvements now in progress 2. Protective mats and equipment for the maple floor 3. Modification of the former stage area into a more useable space – current planning is to place two sets of our old bleachers into this space (they would ruin new floor if installed back in their original location) 4. New retractable bleachers along the court (first good bid we have is $30,800) 5. Protective back entry into the gym (a major project in itself) Protective blacktop or cement to cover dirt and all sorts of grit located fairly near the south end of the gym – already we see much of this grinding material tracking onto the floor.
What about the
auction portion of Harvest Festival?
So much effort went into working to raise money for the floor, that the
number of people to commit to this great potential was not available.
Therefore we will place continuation of this even on hold and plan to
reactive this great potential in the spring. Your ideas are welcomed!
Also, between now and then a committee of parents and
Check the website for upcoming junior high boys’ basketball games. Also there are many pictures to see from the Harvest Festival.
Again, thanks for such great school family involvement during this past busy month. |
