ACSI National Spelling Bee

Congratulations to 8^th grader Cristian Padilla for placing 2^nd in the ACSI Regional Spelling Bee last Friday! He will be participating in the ACSI National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C. on May 10, 2008. Cristian’s dad is a teacher for District 7, and his mom voluntarily coordinated our School Spelling Bee.

The family would like to accompany Cristian in this possible once-in-a-lifetime trip and then spend a week touring historical sites in DC and the surrounding areas. To make this trip, they will be doing various fundraisers and are asking for your prayer support as well.

Donation of frequent flyer miles has been suggested as a way of helping support them. Please contact Angela Padilla at 471-1118 if you have other ideas of how to assist in this trip. Six years ago, a number of people from the school stepped in to help when another New Hope student made it to the ACSI National Spelling Bee.

Summer Camp Program Survey

Thanks for your responses. We are surprised at the heavy response to our very brief and non-informative Summer Camp survey put out last week. Our research will continue into this possibility, and hopefully we will soon be able to give you more details.

Re-Enrollments Helpful

            Thanks for those already turning in re-enrollment forms. Your early response gives us great assistance in our planning for the 2008-09 school year.

Why Limited Driving In Upper Parking Lot Near the Business Office?

            Driving in the upper parking lot next to the Business Office is very limited. In addition to various safety factors, we discovered several years ago that a drain field was right under that parking area. To help it continue working, we have to limit the driving on it. Therefore, drop off/pick up of students is only to be done in the lower parking lot on Hidden Valley Road.

School Zone Near NHCS Is 20 MPH

International Student Host Families Needed for Next Year

Please Be in Prayer for the Bowdoin Family 

            Yesterday, Mr. Bowdoin’s father went home to be with the Lord. Joe Bowdoin was on the founding board of New Hope and a long-time member. He and his wife (who passed away several years ago) were supporters of the school through prayer, time, and finances for many years.
