20 MPH Zone Around New Hope Parents and students, please observe the 20 MPH school safety zone around NHCS. It is tough to make yourself slow down, but please observe this safety law. Congratulations to Copeland trucks that frequent New Hope Rd in front of our school – I notice that they ALWAYS carefully observe the safety speed limit.

Campus Improvement Needs to Start Considering These are not in budget, but will be a GREAT addition for our students if some parents or grandparents feel able and led to contribute the funds:
Washington State Track & Field Coach’s Association Honors New Hope Track Coach NHC track coach David Bowdoin recently attended the Olympia, WA WSTFCA convention, all expenses paid, to receive their Contributor of the Year 2007 award. Each year, that state association chooses one coach to honor for “Outstanding devotion to the support and promotion of track in field in Washington State”. At the convention, they not only awarded the New Hope Christian School’s track coach, but asked David to lead a 50 minute seminar with many track coaches in attendance. The association also asked David if he might place on his website their logo as being the official Washington State track statistics site.
Why choose a coach from a private Christian school in Grants Pass, Oregon for the state of Washington track contribution award? Coach David’s www.Athletic.net was a huge help for Washington coaches, athletes, and newspapers in Washington during last spring’s track season. Introduced to Washington coaches during the previous year’s track season, it now saves their coaches uncountable hours of coaching duties, keeping stats keeping stats for their athletes, their leagues, their state, etc.. Furthermore it has revolutionized the making of track meet entries, now seconds instead of days for the old method of typing in meet entries!
Athletic.net was developed by coach David to keep track of his own athlete’s meet marks. Every meet mark made by his athletes since middle school are on permanent visible record. Four seasons ago, spring 2004, David made his program available to all of Oregon’s track coaches by his website. By word of mouth it’s use quickly spread until last year all of Oregon’s high schools participating in track used Athletic.net to some extent. Naturally, to save immense amounts of time, all the large track meets in the state except the State Championships, require meet entries via www.Athletic.net .
With the February 18th start of Oregon’s spring track season only days away, coach David Bowdoin is not only seeking a repeat of a 2nd place showing by his boys’ team in the 1 A Oregon State Championships, but he hopes to double the current number of coaches, 5,300+, who have made use of his site this past year. Already Athletic.net has at least partial profiles for 220,673 athletes with 1,712,000 event marks recorded!
Last year in addition to expanding nationally for high school, middle school was added. Now added for this coming track season, college use for their own track programs. |
