Cristian Padilla, placed 5^th at the recent regional ACSI Spelling Bee in Vancouver, WA.

Jim Burnham, a teacher/administrator of a California school has accepted a position at NHCS.  We presently have him penciled for the 4^th grade.  He has numerous years of teaching experience and comes with many good references.

Another Step Forward? Is Now the Time to Plan and Work for Another Gym or a Renovated Gym?

• A yearly rumor has been that we are putting in a wood floor.  Every year the answer is, “No, there are no funds committed, nor plans for such a project.”
• During the past couple years some good research has been conducted by several regarding the expenses of renovating our current gym, but the important start-up  funding had not yet materialized.
• Now we have $100,000 committed if matched with the additional monies needed for either another gym or to renovate our present gym.  The board has given approval to pursue additional research and funding commitments.  This amount is far short of the amount needed for either a renovation or for building another gym, both of which are well in excess of $200,000; but this offer may be a GREAT start toward new things for New Hope.
