Our High School Boys Basketball Team To The District Tournament

As the 3rd place team at the conclusion of league play, NHCS plays at Oakland High School this Friday, 3:15 p.m.  An activity bus will leave school about 12:30 p.m. on Friday.  Transportation fee is $5, game entry fees are:

  • $2/student with student body card
  • $4/adult
  • $2/senior citizen (60 and older)

If we win Friday’s game we will play again on Saturday, 1:45 p.m., at Oakland to determine  the 2nd or 3rd seed to enter the 1st round of the state championships next Tuesday.

If we play on Saturday, Dale Quaderer plans to drive an activity bus, leaving at 11:15 a.m.

Playground Installation

 This Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Many hands will make much visible progress with play equipment installation.

International Student Host Families

Let Alan Main know if you want to host one or more international students next year.  International students are committing at this time of year if we have host families.  Next year, we will offer host families $450/month toward hosting expenses.

 Salary & Fee Increases Planned

It is a hard financial balance in making the best school possible….  Charging enough to have a good school, yet not charging so much that you force families out of school.  To gain and retain the quality of teachers needed, we must raise salaries.  However to do such necessitates raising tuition.

Then, how do we help families in need of assistance?

  1. Actively seek donations toward student assistance, as we have started soliciting.
  2. Host a summer on-line and on-site auction with ½ of the proceeds going toward student need scholarships.  (This has tremendous potential to help if we have a number of you who want to tackle such a challenge – two have already indicated interest)
  3. Parents and other volunteers to develop our Scrip program potential with ½ of the proceeds going toward tuition assistance.
  4. Other ideas?

Reenrollment Materials Will Be Sent in Next Thursday’s Envelope
