Dear Parents,

The following communication is important 1) for you as a parent, 2) for your child(ren), 3) for our school, 4) for others you (we) may impact.  Please complete the following two question assignments for yourself, then for each member of your family:

  1. What is your purpose of life?  _______
  2. What are your visions?  ____________

Proverbs 29:18 states “Where there is no vision, the people perish; but he that keeps the law, happy is he”!

Our culture is lacking vision.  It has no firm basis and it is becoming more rudderless, without clear purpose.  We may be overwhelmed at the frequent apathy of today’s youth, BUT each of us adults must seriously ask ourselves, “Am I purpose driven?”  “Do I really exercise vision in my lifestyle?”   How can we raise our children with real purpose, with real vision if we are not purpose or vision driven?  Impossible!

We must not blame the church, nor the school, nor any other thing or person IF we as the parents are not in charge of our own children and living lives that are purpose driven with real visionary goals.

It is great to see when parents take visionary leadership roles.  Please make family time to ponder the questions above.  You are welcome to e-mail some of your thoughts and anticipations regarding your fulfillment of the above assignment.

Some Encouraging Visionary Examples

The Vision of New Staff

This is the first year that NHCS has advertised for teachers.  A big step, we advertised far and wide.  Praise the Lord for three new teachers joining the NHCS faculty for the coming academic year!  All come to us with teaching experience, degrees, and outstanding personal references.

1)  Mrs. Carolyn Fry, gifted in many areas, will be teaching our 4th grade. Besides other management assignments, she has taught  two years in Calcutta, India, two in Canada, and four in Texas where she is teaching ninth grade students and is Guidance Counselor for grades 1-12. She earned her BA and MA from Briercrest and Providence Theological Seminary.

Mrs. Fry has chosen to teach fourth grade because of the positive, life-long impact her own fourth grade teacher made on her life. We sense her joy and enthusiasm in teaching, and even more importantly, her love for the Lord, for children, and her commitment to those in her classes.

 2)  Miss Ashley Schnitzler looks forward with excitement to teaching our 5th grade class.  She earned her BS and her MA from the University of Missouri.  She taught for one year at Heritage Elementary School and is completing her second year of teaching in Saipan Community School where she teaches fifth grade. Ashley has a deep love for children and feels the Lord called her into the ministry of teaching.  She greatly values her experiences with international students in Saipan, an island in the W Pacific, but she believes the Lord is leading her back to the States and to New Hope Christian Schools.  She comes to us highly recommended.

3)  Mr. Jim Burnham will be teaching our 6th grade.  He received his BA from Somona State University.  His most recent ministry has been, teaching 6th grade for six years at Deep Valley Christian School in Redwood, California, followed by these past two years as school principal.  His peers and staff have strongly expressed their deep appreciation of Mr. Burnham’s ministry in their school and are very sad to see him leaving, but he feels the Lord is definitely leading him to Oregon—to NHCS in particular. They want to be closer to their daughter and family who live in Grants Pass.

The students will enjoy Mr. Burnham’s firm control, along with his great sense of humor.  We are impressed by his obvious humility and love for the Lord Jesus.

The Lord is doing “abundantly above all we could as or think” in answer to prayers for the teachers of His choosing for our grades 4-6.
