Passing the Baton, but Staying in the Race

Dear New Hope Family and Friends,

This will be my last letter to you as your school administrator. Our new administrator, Ron Hanson, will officially take the helm on July 1. He arrived early, immediately rolled up his sleeves and got to work. Over the past couple weeks, we have worked well together to “pass the baton”. I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed with his passion and vision for our school. The baton is being placed in very capable hands. I am enjoying working with Ron and encourage you to visit with him as you have opportunity. You will find him very approachable and personable, as well as having a great sense of humor.

I cannot even count the number of people who have asked, “So Ernie, what will you do when you retire?” My response is always the same, “Oh, I’m not going to retire…I’m going to retread.” And that I will. My heart has been with New Hope for the past 15 years; it will continue to. The Lord has a place for me here; so, I will continue to serve in any capacity He desires.

The Lord has reminded me again of His promise, “For I know the plans I have for you.” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” I am passing the baton, but staying in the race.

Thank you all for your wonderful support over the past 15 years of ministry and the past 6 years as your school administrator. It has been my joy and privilege!

Blessings,
Ernie
