Giving Hope:

This year’s student body wants to have more of an impact on their school, community, and world. Student Government has responded by having monthly opportunities for service projects all called Giving Hope. Each project will be led by either a secondary class or by Student Government as a whole. These are not meant to be a financial burden on you, but a means for our school family to show the love of Christ to others. Please be in prayer for these community service projects, as they are a good learning experience for the students presenting them and a way to make a difference in the lives of others.

For October, the Seniors led a community service project at River Valley’s Fall Festival. They collected candy to be used as prizes and encouraged over 25 high school students to help run game booths.

For November, the Student Government is leading the Food Drive for Joe’s Place which will end on November 16th.

The holidays are coming! Start your Christmas shopping early by purchasing gift cards for presents, stocking stuffers, or to use for your Christmas shopping. Spread it out over the next 5 or 6 weeks…don’t wait until the last minute!

Also, check out the Thank-scrip-ing Day flyer for details about a special that has coming up in 2 weeks!

There are two methods of paying for your scrip orders:

  • By cash or check made out to NHCS PTF ~ Place your order at and turn in your cash/check to the school office by Friday. The school will receive your order by Thursday of the next week.
  • By using PrestoPay ~ Place your order at by Monday, pay through PrestoPay, and the school will receive your order by Thursday of that week. If you haven’t already signed up for PrestoPay, the process takes a few days because they have to verify your checking account by placing 2 small deposits into your account. Once deposited, you fill in the 2 amounts, and they send you a code that you email to PTF President Norm Kester (call the office if you need his email address). He has to “approve” you, and then you’re good to go!!! Sign up today, and you may receive approval in time to order on Monday.

ScripNow is available for many of the retailers (and the list is growing all the time). If you are signed up for PrestoPay, very soon (sometimes within a few minutes!) after you order and pay, you will receive your scrip e-card in an email. You print the e-card and use the same as a gift card. If you order ScripNow and are paying by cash/check, you will receive your scrip e-card in an email when payment is received and order is released by Norm (so it may take a few days). Reload and ReloadNow are available for some retailers (their lists are growing all the time, too). See the Scrip Flyer for holiday changes to the Reload schedule.

Ask about Scrip in the office tomorrow while here for your conference time(s) if you have any questions or would like help to sign up.

Warrior Run-A-Thon:

All pledge sheets and money were due by today.

Lunch Announcements:

Check the website for the November lunch calendar. Please provide either a lunch or money to purchase lunch for your student(s). Money can be placed on a lunch account through the school office. The office does not have money to loan students who forget or come unprepared. Thank you!

Family Work Partnership/Volunteer Form:

Only about 50 out of our 140+ families have returned their family work partnership/volunteer forms. If you have not returned yours, PLEASE go to the NHCS website to print it or pick one up in the school office to complete and return. In order to help each family reach their work hours before the end of the school year, we need your completed form.

Parents of SENIORS and Other Interested High School Parents:

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, December 4th. There will be a COLLEGE FINANCIAL AID Planning Night at 7pm in the school cafeteria. Jen Perry from College Dreams will be presenting information on FAFSA, scholarships, grants, etc.

Love to Hang Christmas Lights?:

We need a few “hands” to help put up Christmas lights around the school on Wednesday, Nov. 28th. Call the office or email Tami at if you are able to help.

Also, there will be decorating to do for the Christmas programs. Call the office if this is something you would like to help with.
