Pick Up/Drop Off Area:

Please observe that the student pick up/drop off area is the lower parking lot on Hidden Valley Rd. The upper parking lot by the elementary playground is reserved for staff parking, and the upper parking lot by the observatory is reserved for handicapped and staff parking.

Lunch Announcement:

Please provide either a lunch or money to purchase lunch for your student(s). The lunch menu can be viewed at September Lunch Calendar. Money can be placed on a lunch account through the school office. The office does not have money to loan students who forget or come unprepared. Thank you!

Volleyball Fundraiser:

The volleyball teams are selling Dutch Bros cards as a fundraiser. The first batch of cards will be delivered by the end of this week; another order will be placed in about three more weeks. So if you missed the first round, it’s not too late…orders and payments can be placed in the main office. Either a $10 or $20 card can be purchased, and the teams get 20%! Thank you for supporting our volleyball program!

Shopwithscrip.com:

In your Open House packet, there was a flyer explaining the Scrip Program through shopwithscrip.com. It is not a fundraiser in the typical sense – It’s a Rebate Earning Program! It allows you to do exactly what you’re already doing for your home and your family with no additional cost to you, but New Hope benefits! If you haven’t enrolled yet, check it out. It’s easy to sign up! The school’s enrollment code is 6BBA2A1232844.

Emergency Forms:

If you have not returned the emergency form for your student(s), the office needs it ASAP. Students will not be able to participate in field trips if we don’t have a form. Emergency Form

Proof of Insurance:

If you carpool any students for a school function (sporting event, field trip, etc.), a copy of your up-to-date proof of insurance must be in the school office before you can drive them. If there’s even a possibility that you might drive at some time this year, make sure it’s in the office as soon as possible. (Keep in mind that they are usually only good for six months, and please get us an updated copy when you receive it.)

See You at the Pole:

See You at the Pole will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 26th. Student Government will have more details on this soon. ”What is See You at the Pole, or SYATP? See You at the Pole is a completely student led event in which students meet at their school’s flagpole before school on the fourth Wednesday of every September to pray for your school, the students, teachers, government, and our nation. It is important to note that See You at the Pole is not a demonstration or political rally. It is not trying to make a statement for or against any particular thing, but is just a chance for students to get together to pray.” (Quote from Ask.com)

Learning Center:

The Learning Center is available throughout the school day and after school on Monday through Thursday from 3:15-4:30. We are available to help students improve their study and/or organizational skills, understand current course material, edit papers and projects, complete coursework, or to recover credit for past grades. Call 541-476-4588, ext 21, or email pattih@newhopechristian.net if you have any questions.

College Planning Class:

All high school parents and students are welcome to attend the College Planning Class on Tuesday, Sept. 25th, 7:00-8:15pm, in the NH Cafeteria. This is a free class being offered by Cori Murphy with The College Authority, LLC. See the attached New Hope workshop flyer for complete details about this informational class.

SAT/ACT Diagnostic:

Junior and Senior parents: The attached Diagnostic flyer gives an overview of the SAT/ACT Diagnostic. Contact Mrs. Ward if you have any questions.

Moms in Prayer:

Moms in Prayer will meet every Tuesday at 8:00-9:00 am beginning Tuesday, Sept. 18th. Come and join others in prayer for our school, staff, families, and students.

Bus to Volleyball Game on Sept. 18th:

The high school volleyball team is taking a bus to the Pacific game on Tuesday, Sept. 18th. There is room on the bus for any of the players’ parents and siblings who would like to go. The cost is $2 each to ride. The bus will leave New Hope at 1:00 pm and will return late (approximately midnight or 1:00 am).

Update on the Lockers:

Due to circumstances beyond our control, only part of the order of new lockers for the secondary grades arrived just a few days before school started. The rest of the order looks like it will be arriving this next Tuesday or Wednesday. If you would be able to help in the set-up and installation, please contact the school office and leave a message for someone from PTF to contact you with more details.
