Any “Reach for the Stars Auction” items purchased or obtained over the holidays should be brought into the office ASAP! If you would like a tax deduction, please fill out a donor form located in the office. If not, please fill out the small slip (also in the office) with the needed information about your donated item(s). Be sure to clarify if an item is for a class basket or the main auction. Please keep on shopping and/or obtaining donations! We are in great need of items!

Also, this year is a fun western theme. If you have any pint-sized mason jars you would like to donate or could let the auction committee use for the night of the event, please bring them in as well.

A NOTE FROM OUR ATHLETIC DIRECTOR:

Hi everyone! Our high school boys’ and girls’ basketball teams are off to a great year. It is very appreciated that the School Board lowered the fees for participation. However, because of the cost involved with these team sports, we are highly dependent on additional money coming in, like gate fees and concessions. Parents, especially, if you like the lower fees, “PLEASE, PLEASE” volunteer to help Sharon with concessions. She cannot do this alone. Thank you to Coach Lowell for putting up the $4000 to cover our teams’ expenses to the Klamath Falls and Portland tournaments during Christmas break. I do not think that we fully understand what it takes, in both time and money, to keep our teams competitive. When we are competitive, it is a positive for New Hope Christian School throughout the state of Oregon.

I do want to apologize to our middle school parents for not getting the information out about the start of the girls’ basketball practice. It is our strong desire to keep parents informed about what we are doing, and we’ll try harder to do that. Our middle school basketball schedule is still being adjusted and will be posted before long. The first game is Tuesday, Jan. 17th, at Harvest Baptist. We need to have a parent step forward to schedule rides for our away games so this burden does not fall on the coaches. Let Mrs. Grush know if you would be willing to do this.

Thank you for being a great part of our Warrior Nation sports programs! God bless all of you.
Phil Stephens
Athletic Director

EVERYDAY PARKING AT NEW HOPE:

The upper parking lot off of New Hope Rd. is reserved for handicapped, senior citizen, and faculty parking. Parents, please drop off and pick up your children in the lower parking lot off of Hidden Valley Rd. The lower parking lot is for visitor and student parking.

Due to the damage to our track and drainage pipe from vehicles driving on them, as well as blocking the fire lane behind the gym, we are unable to park in that area. Please plan on parking in the lower parking lot off of Hidden Valley Rd. when you visit the school.

ATHLETIC CALENDAR:

The schedule of basketball games is always subject to change. For the most up-to-date information, check out the Athletic Calendar at http://www.newhopechristian.net/athletics/athletic-calendar. Middle school girls’ games will be added soon.
