ELEMENTARY CHRISTMAS PROGRAM:
“In Honor of Christmas” will be presented tomorrow night, December 9th, 7pm, in our NH gym. Each elementary class, as well as the elementary bands, choir, and strings, will be performing. Don’t miss it!
There will be a fellowship and refreshment time following the program. We are asking each family to bring a dozen cookies. The school will provide the hot chocolate.
CHRISTMAS PROGRAM PARKING:
Please park in the lower parking lot. We are reserving the upper parking lot for grandparent/senior citizen and handicap parking. When the lower parking lot is full, we will open up the upper lot for general parking overflow.
XCHANGE PROGRAM:
Visit www.newhopechristian.net/xchange and check out this exciting new program. New Hope gets a percentage from every gift card! Get involved and help make this the best school in the valley!!!
EVERYDAY PARKING AT NEW HOPE:
The upper parking lot off of New Hope Rd. is reserved for handicap, senior citizen, and faculty parking. Please leave these spaces available for those with physical limitations who need them most.
Parents, please drop off and pick up your children in the lower parking lot off of Hidden Valley Rd. The lower parking lot is for visitor and student parking.
Due to the damage to our track and drainage pipe from vehicles driving on them, and the blocking of the fire lane behind the gym, we are unable to park in that area. Please plan on parking in the lower parking lot off of Hidden Valley Rd. when you visit the school.
ACADEMIC CHALLENGE RESULTS:
Mrs. Ward would like to commend our high school Academic Challenge team for a great effort this year. We are out of the tourney since we lost our first match to Crater High School (6A) by 1 question and then lost our second match to Rogue River High School (3A) by 2 questions. The score was 150 to 130….two really well-matched teams. We played hard, represented New Hope well, and were complimented by the host and station manager for sportsmanship! We now look forward to Brain Bowl in February!
ATHLETIC CALENDAR:
Our high school basketball season has begun! The schedule of games is always subject to change. For the most up-to-date information, check out the Athletic Calendar at http://www.newhopechristian.net/athletics/athletic-calendar.
CONCESSION/GATE HELP IS NEEDED FOR HIGH SCHOOL HOME BASKETBALL GAMES:
Volunteers are needed to work in the HS basketball concessions booth throughout the basketball season. If you can work at least one hour (setting up, serving, or cleanup), contact Sharon through the web site contact form. Help is needed for this Saturday’s games. Concessions help offset many costs associated with our basketball programs.
LUNCHROOM VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:
If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity, our lunchroom can use a few more volunteers to help out. Contact Gina Yunker through the web site contact form for more information.
BOX TOP/SOUP LABELS CONTEST:
The next contest deadline is January 6th. Please put them in a Baggie or envelope and mark with your name and grade so that your class gets the credit for them. Keep them coming in ~ the next class party may be yours!
MICROWAVE REQUEST:
One of the microwaves in the cafeteria quit working this week. If you have one (800 watt or above, preferably) that you’re not using, we would love to give it a new home.
SECONDARY SPIRITUAL EMPHASIS BONFIRE:
The 7th-12th grades will be having a bonfire here at New Hope on Monday, Dec. 12th, 7:00-8:30pm. Please bring a chair or blanket to sit on. Come join us for s’mores, hot cocoa, and Christmas carols!
CROSS COUNTRY STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS PICTURES:

2012 AUCTION REQUEST:
Parents, as you are doing your Christmas shopping, please keep the upcoming “Reaching for the Stars Dinner & Auction” in mind. The holiday bargain sales might be a good time for you to pick up an item that can be auctioned off. Every new item donation adds up and lends itself toward having a successful Auction.
CLASS AUCTION BASKETS:
Baskets, Baskets, Read All About It……The auction committee is looking for a parent from each grade to oversee the class basket that will be auctioned off in May. If you are interested, please contact your child’s teacher or Rachel Bumgardner through the web site contact form. This task is a fun way to get the kids and families excited about the upcoming auction!
