Mrs. Becca Wicks
Hi there! I am so happy to be back “home” teaching at New Hope this year! I attended this school from Kindergarten through 12th grade, graduating in 2003 with the largest senior class so far. After New Hope, I went away to Grand Rapids, Michigan, to attend college. I graduated in December 2008 from Grace Bible College with my Bachelor’s in Religious Education, and from Cornerstone University with my Bachelor’s in Secondary Education (English major, mathematics minor). I have both my state teacher’s license and my ACSI credentials.
After getting married and graduating from college, my husband and I decided to move back to where I grew up to see what opportunities God had for us here. I applied to teach at New Hope, but there were no openings. It wasn’t God’s timing yet. We left for Australia for a two month mission trip and when we returned, God opened the closed doors. That February, I was asked to teach some of the ESL classes for second semester. I had come home! This year will be the start of my second full year of teaching here at New Hope. I will be teaching 8th and 9th grade English, Pre-Algebra, and Pre-Calculus. I am so excited to be teaching these classes and start working with the students!
When not in the classroom, I have my other full-time job… being a mom and wife! My husband and I have a one year old son who keeps us on our toes. We never imagined life could be this full of joy! I also love taking care of my yard, reading, and quilting.
Again, I am thrilled to be here at New Hope. I have incredible students and great co-workers. The “family” here is so special to me. I have treasured it since I was in elementary school and am so blessed to be back as an active member of this family once more!
