Mrs. Annie Burnham

Mrs. Annie BurnhamI am so excited to be teaching at New Hope again this year!  Over the last year, God has continued to grow in me a passion and a call to teach.  I am a graduate of Point Loma Nazarene University with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a minor in Spanish.  I am planning to get my Oregon teacher’s certification in the next year or two and am continuing my own education by participating in a grant sponsored class called Teaching American History.

This year I will be teaching 7/8 Bible, 7/8 US History, 7th English, and 11/12 Chemistry.  New Hope has been a wonderful place to gain experience with a staff that truly loves the Lord and desires to see the students grow spiritually as well as intellectually.  My desire in each of my classes is to lead my students toward the goal that Paul had for Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:22, “So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.”

This year will also be a new experience for my husband Christopher and me as we are moving, along with our dog Ruby and cat Severus, to the duplex on campus at New Hope in order to be host “mom” and “dad” to several international students.  Our prayer is that we will be able to share the love of Christ with these students as they live with us throughout the next year.
