Miss Tiffany Petersen
John 3:30 states, “He must become greater, I must become less.” Although it is a simple statement, it carries profound meaning. In everything I do, in my personal or public life, it is Christ who must be made greater and I become less. To Him be the glory.
I am a 2007 New Hope graduate and a 2011 Corban University graduate. I received my B.S. degree in Social Studies Secondary Education and recently my Oregon Initial I Teaching License in Middle Level: Multiple Subjects. Corban did an excellent job in teaching me how to recognize and utilize students’ various learning techniques. I am humbled by the opportunity to be involved at New Hope, to use the knowledge and experience gained over the past four years at college, and be a part of a terrific new program – the tutoring/learning center.
This is a new pilot program designed to help all students remain in their classrooms, but have an opportunity to learn skills that increase their level of competency and reach their potential. The program seeks to provide the tools needed for each student to develop a confidence in their ability to learn and exceed their own expectations. The center is a no pressure, friendly, and relaxed environment in which students can learn and excel in a variety of ways.
I also teach 8th and 11th grade US History.
It is so exciting for me to be able to return to New Hope, work with a wonderful staff, and have a supportive environment to continue my teaching experience. I look forward to working with students, learning how to best serve them, and challenging myself to develop John 3:30.
