History and Purpose

New Hope Christian School has been providing Christian education in the Rogue Valley since 1961. New Hope is a place where God is honored and the Gospel proclaimed.  Coming to life through the effectual prayers of concerned Christians in Southern Oregon, the school was founded through the joint efforts of local churches and World Mission to Children, Inc.  The corporation is now known as New Hope Christian Schools, Inc. an Oregon non-profit corporation with IRS-approved 501(c)(3) status. New Hope currently enrolls about 285 students.

New Hope Christian School educates pre-school, kindergarten, elementary, and secondary students, pointing them to Christ as the only Savior and Lord, and encouraging them to make a personal commitment to Him.   The school upholds standards of appropriate behavior and academic excellence, with God’s Word as the unchanging standard.

Facilities

Rurally located six miles south of Grants Pass, Oregon, our 33-acre campus offers a varied and well-developed educational experience.  Fifteen thousand-plus square feet of classroom and office space include a library, computer lab, science lab, School of Tomorrow individualized learning center, and numerous classrooms.  In addition, an oval track and full-size gymnasium provide excellent facilities for intramural and interscholastic sports competition in cross country, volleyball, basketball, and track.  As a current member of OSAA, the school provides athletic competition with other 1A schools of Southern Oregon.  The grounds contain large lawns and flowerbeds, making them both aesthetic and functional.

New Hope Christian Schools admits, without discrimination, students of every race, sex, color, and national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at this school.  NHCS reserves the right to select students on the basis of academic performance and personal qualifications, including a willingness to cooperate with the goals of New Hope Christian School and to abide by its policies.

Beliefs

We Believe the Bible to be inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We Believe in the Trinity; God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We Believe
in the deity of Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His resurrection from the dead, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His imminent, personal return in power and glory.
We Believe in the necessity of repentance and regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the sinfulness of human nature, and that men are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ, and that only by God’s grace and through faith are we saved.
We Believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost- they that are saved to the resurrection of life, and they that are lost to damnation.
We Believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.
We Believe in the historical reliability of the Bible, including the six-day creation, fall of man, and Genesis flood.

Educational Program

We believe that every student is unique and deserves the best education possible.  To meet these needs, we have pioneered the combination of several effective education methods to create an education that is just right for your child.

Traditional Classes are taught, using the A Beka or Bob Jones curriculum systems in all grades.  The majority of our students thrive, academically, within these programs.

Distance Education College Credit (DECC) options exist for high school students.  These options involve working with various colleges, usually over the Internet, to complete college courses.  The students receive college credit PLUS high school credit for each class completed.  This increases the number of classes available to our high schoolers, making their education expanded and specialized.

School of Tomorrow (SOT) is an individualized & self-instructional program that helps over 80 students each quarter.  It enables students to excel beyond chronological levels, and it also enables remediation as needed. SOT provides various options for students not able to use the traditional programs. The SOT program also enables high school students to take courses that would otherwise cause schedule conflicts in the traditional classroom offerings.
